May 20, 2012 - Hey Decimater, I'm Decimated. I like cold war stuff too, born in 78, USAF 1996, i remember the public service announcements, and vague fear of Russians. If you want to read a dynamite, absolutely dynamite book on WW2, read Ralph Peter's Red Army. As good or better than Red Storm Rising

May 22, 2012 - i see a total war .my question is- how is it possible during a war like ww2 to take 6 mio jews, transport, kill and burn without a trace.you know: if there is 1 jew killed in the world for being a jew- its an outrage !if 100 jews are missed- they look for.for the 6000000 they got palstine and billions in money and all the places in hollywood, kongress, mediaworld...

May 25, 2012 - Yea it was a Mini-Series on NBC back in the 80's I want to say 82 or 83, wasn't anywhere close to the Day After, another Nuclear War movie from the 80's. I remember watching this as a kid.

Mark16Follower Says:
May 25, 2012 - I remember this mini series first came out. It was winter 1982. Cheesie film and pale in comparison to "The Day After" which was way more intense (even though it deliberately downplayed what really goes on in a Nuclear war due to TV censors back then). Like "World War III", The Day After" was originally a 4 hour movie, but ABC said no to that idea due to the graphic content.
UL439 Says:
May 25, 2012 - wow. I came as far as 1:19:00 into the movie, it's painfully slow. I think I saw 4 rooms and a couple external locations. Some budget. The storms are faker than Santa.
UL439 Says:
May 25, 2012 - did I really wait 3 hours for that lousy ending? WTF

May 26, 2012 - Many commenting here don't have an appreciation for those tense times between the USSR and the US in the 60's & 70's. With the fall of the USSR, the Internet, and open communications between nations, make such conflicts far less likely. This film, while seemingly clunky today, illustrated the real need for dialog between political and military leaders on both sides. We came close due to a mistake during Yeltsin's time in office. Cooler heads prevailed. We have a safer world today.
MEMmaker3 Says:
May 26, 2012 - did U really want to see up-teen billion humans instantly incinerated? The imagery was in the faces of those folks that would be dead ... no longer here, no longer alive. Killed off like ants in an ant hill. That's the kind of control our leaders have. I lived near Loring Air Force base Maine as a kid. We practiced hiding under the desk like that would really help. At the time of my youth - I could have easyly been one of those wide eyed kids blown to who knows where? Who wins? Who REALLY see?

May 27, 2012 - And the Military complex is hard at work. Scaring the be Jesus out of people so they can scout more young people, rob more tax payers money for their insane toys of war, surveillance their own people. Its a magic trick while they play with our minds focusing on the bogus spot light in front, in the back the so called Patriots Neo Cons the servants of Rockefeller Rothschild DuPont etc have sold the country from within starting with our economy. Fountain Pen is mightier than a machine gun.
