May 17, 2012 - Actually east orange is much worse than newark. Newark has a thriving downtown corporate business ctr, two law schools, medical school,federal courts and nj performing arts center. Plus portugese ironbound.politicians out$ into.it plus business, at least downtown.. cory booker is mayor. Strong church and local tenant etc orgs. Camden lost that, like east orange. Full of gangs crips bloods, corrupt cops, no jobs, no 9-5 .war zone no white. I can go to newark any day not scared.

Get grants from govt, not just promises, make them stick to it and move back together with a plan to rebuild camden thru a special low tax zone, special housing deal for buyers, deals for businesses, its called investing in the hood by govt and big business .incentives for public planning, to restore camden. We did it for disneyland times square

May 19, 2012 - ive gone to law school there every day for the past 3 years. the school area, aquarium, and susquehana bank center isnt bad. I walk a good distance to and from my car and never had a problem but go a few blocks to the other side of the bridge and it can be rough. That said, i have been over there for a few meals. never been robbed or assaulted, there are lots of good people... if you go in looking for drugs, you'll find trouble but that can happen anywhere.
