Jul 12, 2011 - Great video! I just got back from my first practice session at a park. I had my share of tangles and probably looked pretty sloppy/funny a lot of the time, but after an hour or so it started to come together a little bit. Can't wait to get back out there and hopefully be somewhat ready for my Mammoth trip in a month!

Aug 22, 2011 - Good, vid.. but should the cord hit the water behind you? when you are using your forarm to throw backward?

hmong907vballer Says:

Aug 31, 2011 - So when you pull the string from the reel to make it longer(because it seems loose), so that you can loop it further, what happens if you got a bite? Would you just reel it in? Srries I'm new to this,

Sep 12, 2011 - when your timing is off your line on the backcast will making a "snap" sound when your forward motion is too early

WestminiAlum Says:

Oct 5, 2011 - What are you doing with your left hand as you cast? It seems you are pulling the line on your forward cast?

Dec 28, 2011 - @UnitedPonys this isnt tightlines. the false cast is used to get momentum in your cast to cast far enough to where you want or u can do it to target exactly where you want to land your fly

Mar 31, 2012 - I have a fly fishing trip at Lees Ferry on the Colorado River in Az next week. Been fishing all my life and now looking to get into fly fishing. Been watching your vids over and over, not looking forward to catching myself with hooks all week but should be a great time none the less!

Apr 4, 2012 - depending on how much line you have out between your reel and your control hand and depending on the size of the fish you can slowly feel the slack out always keeping enough tension to not lose the fish the reel it in. or you can bring the fish in by just "stripping" with your guide hand depends on the situation

duane2072 Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - Can you use false casts to change direction? From lets say in front of you, pull up some line, pull back, then slowly change direction lets say to your left. Or can you pull back and flip it to your left like half way, keep doing the false cast to get in the direction you want to be then feed the line out on your last forward cast? Just curious, I have my dads fly rod handed down to me and you got me curious. I'm liking it a lot.

duane2072 Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - Never mind, I didn't realise you had a 3rd video. Yep, I think I'm going out to try this. If I can teach myself a baitcaster and pitching and such, I can do this. Cant wait, I'm stoked.

napper1496 Says:

Apr 23, 2012 - The only way we'll succeed is practice practice practice. Windy weather doesnt help. Ive caught lots of brownies/sea trout so far. Most of it is the correct fly
