It does not come from the word "Guna" like some believe. Used in a different context completely. But makes no difference to me at this point. Cultural influence means there is plenty of Tai words in modern Khmer. Kbach Kun Khmer boran is real khmer martial art. san kim saen Bokator is fake :)
