Mar 24, 2012 - you know i really dig rock n roll. 70's and below. idk about 80's rock. but i was raised in a black family. i never listened to this stuff till now. and i'm 20 years old really listening to the beatles and whatnot. rap had nothing to offer me but how to get by with a smile. sad part is you can't and this is working music. when you need that inspiration. your unsure about God but you don't doubt him at the same time. And you might know some scripture and you apply sometimes and know its good.

Mar 29, 2012 - Hey man...if you were raised in black family then you were lucky musically.Where did rock come from? It was the black blues artists that paved the way for Elvis and Chuck Berry etc.Start back further with Howlin Wolf,Muddy Waters,BB king,Etta James and go from there.Take a spin through Motown and you'll see that us white folks would be lost without black folks showing us the way.Then find the Stones, Zeppelin and of course Skynyrd and you'll hear how it all came full circle.

Apr 13, 2012 - all your music choice dosent have to be decided by your parents, plenty of good music out there old and new,expose to as much of the non garbage as possible. i like Skynard,CCR,Jim Croce,Billy Joel... but i dont see a rule hooking me to only those, which lead to hair metal from classic rock, to modern rock, country led to folk songs...i love hairmetal the most. but i enjoy skynard just as much, old or new. Internet Radio like Pandora or IHeart may play bands you radio will never think of :)

Apr 13, 2012 - problem is. good thing and bad thing, you hear the artists, and some like them possibly picking another favorite artist in the past or one whos songs you never heard before, but its UNCENSORED.... in my oppionon. best way to get it if it isint overly offensive.couple heart and quaterflash songs would have not heard, wouldent have heard Joe Lynn Turner/Sunstorm,Sabaton,John Parr,Edguy,Gamma Ray,Gordon Lightfoot ect,ect. sometimes gambling on the unknown if allowed can get good results
