Jul 8, 2011 - Okay, so this was amazing!And I see many people are confused or fighting about a certain topic... no one can REALLY determine if Billy is gay or not except the creator of 'Billy Elliot'. I wouldn't care, and it wouldn't really make sense for Billy to kiss Michael (on the cheek) after Michael kissed Billy that way before without him having some type of feelings towards Michael. Nov 23, 2011 - I don't think people are missing the point. I agree that Michael's homosexuality was only a subplot, but that doesn't mean that people can't be affected by it in some way. Sure, the main point of the movie is not that Michael was in love with Billy, but it was still very touching, and it certainly moved me. His love for him was so sweet and pure. He loved him for everything that he was, and that's what the video shows. There are other important parts: this video only portrays one.

Nov 23, 2011 - I think Billy kissing Michael was more a way of saying, "Thank you for being my best friend, I'll miss you, sorry I can't love you back". Billy is clearly comfortable enough with his sexuality (not that he has much of one yet, though) to be friends with a boy who is gay and likes to try on his sister's dresses, so obviously he's okay with being affectionate toward Michael, who he knows loves him and is heartbroken that he's leaving. I think Billy was straight.
