May 7, 2012 - 'I was not a hero... but I served in the company of heroes.' I remember that quote by one of the veterans (not sure if I got it verbatim) and it stuck with me.

May 10, 2012 - yes they named us shock troops. in the first world war. this is the second world war and there not talkin about us canadians so argue if it involves canada not someone else. then you just become anoying
Davis4037 Says:
May 12, 2012 - correct me if im wrong, but the canadian forces were only responsible for one beach, between sword and gold if im right. yes, the canadians did complete the most objectives of all of the forces, and yes, you did battle in the city of caen. but you need to get all of your facts right. besides, i think omaha and utah were the two hardest beaches during d-day, and our american boys payed dearly in blood.
Davis4037 Says:
May 12, 2012 - honestly, i think it helped the russians that they had MILLIONS of more men than the germans. and had the allies not interviened, then the germans would probably have been able to put more pressure on the russians. dday and the invasion of italy caused many german troops to be diverted from the russian front.
Davis4037 Says:
May 12, 2012 - another good one is called the pacific, which Stephen E. Ambrose's son, Hugh Ambrose helped to create and wrote a book about

May 13, 2012 - ALL GERMANS SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOREVER. BUT THEY ARE NOT.THEY REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEIR MOTHERS AND FATHERS KILLED MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.GERMANS HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY ARE "SUPERIOR" TO OTHERS.BUT THEY ARE NOT- TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT SOME RANDOM UGLY GERMAN IDIOT.THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE WITHOUT GERMANY- ITS THAT SIMPLE.
FirstToFightOOHRAH Says:
May 13, 2012 - Exactly. My grandfather was there on the infamous D-Day. It was pure carnage. He doesn't like to talk about it. It makes me very sad when I watch documentary's about it. Make no mistake, if that invasion hadn't been in operation, Germany wouldn't have fallen as fast as it did.
LaNastassja Says:
May 14, 2012 - I love Germans. And Americans.
Ograws Says:
May 16, 2012 - I wish they had amazing shows like this on TV instead of Jersey Shore
Errupttzz Says:
May 16, 2012 - My Grandpa was in Pattons Army in the Infantry during WWII. He was in Saint Lo, Bulge, and many more. He told me that when he was fighting in Saint Lo, there was so much dead both on the German and the American side, and the German Commander, yelled over a loud speaker, saying "Americans, Americans." and told them to stop, so they could clean up all the dead, and all the germans and americans cleaned up their dead and then started shooting at each other. He crys every time he tells me this story

May 16, 2012 - Nnnnnnnn u r a retard they shouldn't be shamed ur so stupid honestly why would they need to be shamed there mothers and fathers didn't kill people there great grandfather killed people and there were no women who fought for the Germans no German should be ashamed of what was there great grandfathers call to duty plus not all Germans didn't kill in the war most hitlar didn't even let fight cause they weren't the right breed of blonde hair blue eyes anyway shut up okay u r stupid
TheAworldview Says:
May 19, 2012 - All of you people arguing about Russia, Germany, and what America did or didn't do really need to read a book. Russia and Germany signed a pack because they both new they would be at war eventually, but they needed more time to build up the military. America didn't invade until 42,but we sent more supplies and material to Britain, and Russia than any other time in history. All communist/fascists regimes are bad in my opinion. Russia/Stalin killed millions more than Germany, both are evil men
TheAworldview Says:
May 19, 2012 - Russia would of eventually defeated Germany more than likely, but it would of took a whole lot longer, see since Hitler really was a completely moron in military tactics, he made it easier on everyone. No he didn't conquer France it was Mansteins plan, spelled wrong I'm sure, He had over 250k men in Finland guarding the iron routes, and he sent 150k men to protect oil reserves, dumb mistake. Segregation and systematic killing HUGE difference. Canada did not take the toughest beaches, Omaha USA

KimInLosAngeles Says:
May 26, 2012 - GOOGLE: John RabeHe (a German & a Nazi Party member) saved 200,000 civilians in Nanking from Japanese. He, John Magee & other Caucasians photographed & filmed corpses on the streets b/c they thought that if they only write down the condition of the corpses, then nobody would believe them.Female corpses had BAYONETS, BROKEN BOTTLES & JAPANESE FLAGS in their vaginas.Little girls' vaginas were cut wide for Japanese men to rape them.Japanese gov STILL denys Nanking Massacre (300,000 deaths)

CanadainArmy1 Says:
May 5, 2012 - Don't forget Canada we had the hardest beaches on d-day and we took them both in one day. Plus we were the first to Caen with the most obstacles and that is why the Germans nicknamed the Canadian Military the shock troopers.
