Apr 27, 2012 - Apparently you cant read. My comment said that he cancelled the program "only months after telling thousands of NASA employees that their jobs were safe" My point is he misled 7000 employees that their jobs were safe when he knew damn well they weren't. Whether its aerospace workers or ditch diggers doesn't matter. He misleads people all the time.

Postie218 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - I gave you the facts, too bad your so unhappy with your president. Perhaps, you need a life. LOL.

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - You have nothing to say but to tell me I need a life....you just lost the debate ;(

Postie218 Says:

Apr 27, 2012 - Oh no, I lost, what am I going to do ? Oh brother, some of you American's are the most unhappy uninformed bunch of dumb asses.

plotchickens Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - this is one of the easiest craft to land

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Fact, Obama sat in front of thousands of NASA workers in the summer of 08 telling them "We cant afford to lose your technical expertise" and their their jobs were safe. Fact, months after he took the office he canceled the Constellation program causing 7000 NASA workers to lose their jobs and thousands more outside NASA. The point I am making is he says one thing and does another. These are facts, How does this make me uninformed? Go wash the sand out of your vagina, you seem irritated.

amgen52 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - What Nasa workers got laid off? From where?

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - At cape Kennedy, when the Constellation program was canceled in 2009. Plus they figured another 7000 from from service industries. Cant remember the exact name of the town but they worked at Kennedy.

amgen52 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Thats why I asked. There were 2500 Nasa ppl working at the Cape. Not one got laid off after shuttle. I think what you mean is 7000 contractors got laid off. United Space Alliance who launched, landed and did the maintenance on all the orbiters and did the training of the astronauts etc. lost almost everyone in July 2011.

Postie218 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - ..and, go back to my first statement, you'll understand the "why" of the cancellation. So, you feel the employee's were lied to. Well, who DIDN'T fund constelation proerly ? That was "W". and you know it. If you don't well, go buy a pack of gum, I'll show you how to chew it. Oh, next time I see you sucking your boyfriends dick at the bus station I promise I won't slap it out of your mouth.

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - My bad, Got the Space Alliance and NASA wrong, but the layoffs did occur after Obama said they were safe. 60 minutes did a scoop on it a few weeks ago.

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Another quality post compliments of potsie

amgen52 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - When Obama came to the Cape, he played it really tricky. The audience was only allowed to be Nasa, politicians and the local media. No contractor ppl were allowed. So in a sense, he didnt lie to the audience. So everybody thought they were safe. He definetly is a scam artist. On the way back to his plane on the shuttle runway, he took back roads so he didnt have to drive by the contractors. He was a real dick in that sense.

motoman1210 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - I guess that was my point...that he's a 2 faced crook. I wasn't arguing over W canceling the shuttle, just that Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth. Thanks for the added info, I sorta assumed that USA and NASA were basically the same group.

amgen52 Says:

Apr 28, 2012 - Thanks for the comments...

oldaardvark Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - Non-pilots, too!

qed100 Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - Nonsense. Computers have always had market value outside the Space Program. Progress in computing performance has been made independent of space travel. The Space Shuttle even used obsolete computers with ferrite core memories. And let's consider the Soviet Union. They had a vigorous space program, but it didn't boost their computer technology.

CHOADspewer Says:

May 1, 2012 - I like rockets better. When they fail really bad shit spews in a major ball of flame and shit...and the smell is incredible. And the look on the faces of those guys in control when they see all that money going up in smoke because some dick forgot the wick was so short.

MrCOLTSR2 Says:

May 4, 2012 - Great video...one of mans greatest achievements....thanks to NASA....shame to see the shuttle program ended..

zooropascott Says:

May 19, 2012 - Maybe a Navy Pilot????? :-)

puncheex Says:

May 20, 2012 - Actually, the Soviet Buran launched, orbited twice and landed completely automatically; no humans were aboard for its one and only flight in November, 1988 from/to Baikonur Cosmodrome. It landed 3 meters off the centerline in a 38 mph crosswind.

DukeVonKtm Says:

May 22, 2012 - Why the quality is so crappy? Didn't they have gopro back then?

jcannon199 Says:

May 27, 2012 - Great vid!! Love to hear the comedy mixed in with their extreme precision. Question: Do they feel the effects of decelerating thru Mach 1, as a boat would feel it's own wake catch up to it? I interpret that from their comments: "rock road", and "that wasn't so bad". God, I miss the shuttle :((
