Feb 6, 2010 - These flicks have done a number on Wallander's popularity, I'd say. I didn't hear of them until as of late, when a good number of American acquintances started to more or less simultaneously telling me how much they loved Wallander. Fortunately they went and read the books too. And I have to admit that I've no complaints of the films themselves either. Leave it to the British if you want a good cop film, I'd say.

Jun 9, 2011 - The writer (Mankell) is the fifth most read author in the world these days! I haven't seen the series on TV. Ken looks great and I am sure I would love to see the whole thing. But the books.... I cannot let go. They are absolutely wonderful! so much suspense is unreal.In America it's a lot about violence. In the north of Europe it's more about suspense. As roxamills mentioned earlier (much earlier actually), it's all about mystery and I LOVE IT! Thanks you for sharing this.
