Apr 4, 2012 - My father is an incredible person and I hope one day to be half the man he is. He worked his bum off for forty years providing for his wife and five children and I never heard a complaint out of his mouth. Dispite his 60-hour weeks he was always there if I needed a pat on the back, a hand up, a hand out or a smack on the butt. I never went without in any regards and was always there when I needed him most. He will always be a hero to me. I love you, WSM.

Apr 21, 2012 - There's actually an interview with EITS and they asked about this song, vaguely and it is indeed a tribute to the bands fathers. Your description on what this song may be about is a pretty good interpretation, but at the same time, the band uses the whole 'marching army drums' fairly often, and very often have a soft opening leading to a loud mid section. That being said, I love my dad.

Apr 29, 2012 - only clouds in the sky yesterday were those long trails laid out in grids...they worked overtime...the pay must be great. I've never heard "boom" sounds before while they're laying 'em out and there was no storms near. Weird day and clouds at setting sun...never ever have seen them before, eva

blindmansarrow Says:

May 5, 2012 - lol dork! our constitution was created under the assumption wars will have to happen. articles of confederation weren't working! think deeper young one. our country has only been around since the late 1700s. if you really want to be deep, and get closer to what EITS decidedly intended, think about what it means to BE a child. think about creation. choices. being roped in by your choices' consequences (e.g. a child). hell, just think about thinking being a form of creation, thereby parenting...

blindmansarrow Says:

May 5, 2012 - hell, this country was founded on the genocide and displacement of an entire isolated hemisphere's variety of cultures, as well as an example of a colony using war to break from its mercantilizing empire...

TheStyloCrew Says:

May 11, 2012 - stop putting labels on music. it's a great song and shouldn't be sullied by petty arguments about the reason they wrote it.

May 23, 2012 - My Father is an excellent example of a man from his generation, He has taught me more than he has forgotten, and he has forgotten more than most men are ever taught.
