May 14, 2012 - No. Hitchens died of complications (pneumonia) from hereditary esophageal cancer. Smoking no doubt didn't helped his condition, but it wasn't the cause.

But a rapid-fire spot vs. a rapid-fire opponent like Hitchens, he...he...he...takes....takes...too...long. Would've loved to have seen Hitchens vs. Dr. Albert Mohler in a TV spot like this (let alone a full debate). Sadly, neither will ever happen.
