Mar 22, 2011 - @PainlessTragedy Not quite my friend. Blues may look easy to play, however, feeling what you're playing, plays a major role when you wield an instrument, especially when playing blues.Blues are easy to play but very hard to feel.

May 16, 2011 - Great lesson! I really recommend this for all the blues novices out there. By playing this sort of minimum-blues you train your expression rather than your technique. This is essential because in the blues genre there is only a thin line between thrilling suspense and total boredom. And it is definitely not technique that keeps you on the right side of this line ...

Aug 3, 2011 - Justin, many guitarists (teachers) attempt to explain the in's and out's of guitar theory but eventually they always get carried away and start doing the whole showing-off thing (and always with a sickly, smug grin). You are by far the best instructor and mentor I've ever encountered with the patience and understanding of a Saint. Thank you for making a fun hobby, that becomes frustrating for many people as time goes on and providing clear & unpretencious guidance. You're a true martyr. Thanks.

Sep 5, 2011 - Been playing guitar since i was 11; chords and picking mostly by ear. I never new a scale, couldn't play a lead if my life depended on it. I saw your first video about 7 days ago; yesterday I played a lead over a jam track and for the first time in my life felt i knew what I was doing. Was it Eric or BB? No ...but it was such a leap forward in my guitar playing I cannot tell you how happy I am..You are a fine teacher! Thank you so much for investing your time in us. BTW: I'm now 55... :-)

Oct 9, 2011 - Thanks Justin Ive being playing for ages and it constantly frustrated me that licks that Id learned in isolation wouldnt come out in improvisation . Following your tip of playing a single lick over a backing , has real helped in bridging the gap between what I learn and I actually play .Cheers.
