TruthSurge Says:

May 17, 2012 - Or... just buy a $30 handheld tape player. When the idea hits, record it. ?

May 19, 2012 - Awesome speaker,.. brilliant protection theory for creative instruments...It is unfair for any one person to have to carry the burden of genius.Detach the exclusive resonance, give it a name & stay with us lesser mortals always. Love it...

malcolmbryant Says:

May 20, 2012 - That is a very good point and also a very good idea.

danielbsmith Says:

May 22, 2012 - She's talking about purging out Pride.

panterameetsrebel Says:

May 24, 2012 - What would that achieve?

310sucks Says:

May 24, 2012 - that artistic creation is ultimately about self-realization and fulfillment, and a sense of job well done, and not just for the sake of hawking your wares.

Pam0284 Says:

May 24, 2012 - Artists need to learn to be humble. One must constantly be humbled and they will be greater

mikemfd232 Says:

May 24, 2012 - This bimbo said that the victims of the tsunami were all sending out 'tsunami-like vibrations' which caused the tsunami. What an arrogant asshole.

a8biey Says:

May 26, 2012 - wow

poorporepour Says:

May 26, 2012 - no tolerance for your sexism. TED talks are for intelligent people, using the term "bimbo" for something irrelevant really contradicts you being here. what she said might sound wrong or like it's blaming people for something they can't control, but she's trying to understand higher power in a beneficial way essentially and you have no reason to despise her for trying to make sense of the world.

poorporepour Says:

May 26, 2012 - not really, when you decide that no one else could have created their own idea; that EVERYONE ELSE, no matter how great, is only a receiver of creativity just like you. the pride is still there, it's just on a secondary level FOR ALL HUMANS, and the idea also provides some a bit of support, a psychological crutch. it lets you be humble while still feeling greater and more powerful than certain humans for a certain accomplishment.

lusomarga Says:

May 26, 2012 - somehow hearing her acknowledging that she is a transmitter of divine power sounds more arrogant than acknowledging her being responsible for her own work herself entirely.

poorporepour Says:

May 26, 2012 - not just herself, but everyone who has ever had an ounce of creativity. listen.

danielbsmith Says:

May 26, 2012 - I agree with what you're saying for the most part but I also think that there are two different forms of pride. There's a selfish version that comes from one's own accomplishment blown out of proportion or used to belittle others, but there's also a positive pride in oneself or the accomplishment of others that one supports. One tears down while the other builds up. In my original comment, I was referring to the former selfish version of pride that tears down.

Toweringinferknow Says:

May 26, 2012 - This is amazing. I'm in academia and I find that there is constant pressure to write some piece of theoretical brilliance. It is incredibly daunting.

52111centrumcz Says:

May 27, 2012 - Well, I dont think mike was refering to her as stupid for being a woman - he was referring to her as a stupid woman > i.e., she is stupid, and a woman. The fact that she is a woman is in no way relevant to the fact she is stupid >in some aspects.
