Apr 16, 2012 - the closer the hit hat is the better it is,it allow you to swap quickly between this and snare, high level hit hat=not good

MrRamminator1 Says:

Apr 16, 2012 - I know that but I was just saying that I hardly see pro drummers with the high hat that low, my Hi hat is like 15cm higher from the snare

Arthemesic Says:

May 7, 2012 - That's strange, I can identify myself in many small details in Mr. Phillips' drumming. Not to say I'm anywhere as talented or inspiring as he is, just felt kinda nice to hear someone else doing some of the same things I do.

gggDrQuinnGGG Says:

May 10, 2012 - Simon Phillips is a Technical Monster I even will say that he is more advance than Neil Peart in his rudiments as well that's what I believe truly anyway. As far as rudiments and technique this guy is a total Monster.

gggDrQuinnGGG Says:

May 10, 2012 - yah this is from like 1987 I know cause I had the flimsy record in the Modern Drummer Magazine when they let us hear Protocol as a demo track in the Magazine back in like 87 or 88 I dont remember but it was one of them. Thats when all this was done way back in 87.

gggDrQuinnGGG Says:

May 10, 2012 - heck yeah haha

chushalcon Says:

I have studied many drummers, Joey Jordison from SLIPKNOT is awesome, Large Oilrig from Metallica, Simon Phillipses solo here is good,Eric Carr from KISS, Dylan Elises solo from NZ is awesome. ANd there is so incredible many awesome drummers. I love beiin stage/sidecrew/roadie as well, is see so much incredible things under a show. This drummer debate is endless my friends :) I love readin what You read :) Kevin, Nothingville

May 16, 2012 - 3:57 - 4:09 that lick is incredible.Comparing different styles of musicians is moot. A good musician is a good musician...period. Style doesn't matter, nor does genre. They all bring something positive to the table. If you ain't learning from all them, then you are not appreciating the art.The best musicians learn from everybody. That's no joke.

klsjr4 Says:

May 23, 2012 - enough of the fucking genre wars, its starting get fucking annoying. every fucking day its metals fucking easy, nothing but speed. or jazz is all slow and lack skill all yall shut the fuck up and get a clue. you dont see the drummers argue. go watch derek roddy and eric moore duel a round or watch marco minnemann. play the most syncopated lick in the history of drums or hell watch tomas lang break you mind. just fucking drum you arguative bastards

salmon020 Says:

May 24, 2012 - I'm a huge metal fan and difficulty and speed mean nothing when it comes to skill.
