May 27, 2012 - I know the locale is right along the Tennessee, North Carolina border, but I thought it was just over the border in NE Tennessee. Striking scenery without a doubt. Thought about staying in NC after the Army because of the Southern Appalachians but in the end went back to Kansas.

May 27, 2012 - Alice jumping in an act of stoic defiance and reserved despair, that made me cry. She didn't so much as jump, but just chooses to walk away, even if that means falling...following her love..saying with her actions...that no matter what you do..I will never obey, to the guy who had just murdered her love. He seems perplexed by her actions...as all he knows how to do is kill and not love. Her suicide also is a protest to what would have been probably her own murder, abuse/rape and/or enslavement.
