May 17, 2012 - Sweet heart I know the feeling of being degraded. I'm queer, Asian and a woman and also a health practitioner/coach. I'm in the field of teaching people how to overcome inner fears. When you respond back to the person with an equal amount of energy that translates to anger all you do is only add to their belief that world is a dark place. Responding is fuel to his fire. He wants attention. To shift his reality you have to respond in way you want him to be. So kindness is another route. Be well.

Especially when it comes to people with limited education, who were raised to believe one thing and one thing only, even more so when those people are at an age where they will simply refuse to accept any other point of view.The only other option left is an angry one - it's to tell them how you fell about their existence.

May 17, 2012 - Totally agree. I had family members and [past] friends where I had to get angry. Then next question: how much energy do I want to spend on this person? I had to then ask myself where do I want to allocate my energy? That's why I in the field I'm. I realize I have more of an impact to my community when I "educate" my point of view to others. I'm a "realist" too. I've come to realize that this route takes patience. What kind of world do you envision? I hope you go for it and make it yours. :)
