I can say that for the most part that southerners are less uptight and more friendly than us yankees. Down south you know your neighbors and always wave or say hello too passerby's. You can strike up a conversation with someone you don't know with relative ease. Up here you don't wave unless you know the person. May 25, 2012 - The other culture shock was southern time. Y'all are way more laid back. Up here anything more than 5 minutes early is considered late. South of the Ohio river, If your within 20-30mins it's alright. It drove me crazy at first. Then I realized there are far more important things in life. We rush around stressing ourselves out trying to beat the clock. When we should just slow down a notch and enjoy the climb.
