Jun 27, 2007 - The NEW FTM "style" of tying will not work with the dull nylon filiaments that he and others like SLF use. Back in the 80's we started going to shinier materials like "mylars" to get a fly noticed in the water. Now it seems tiers are going to using black marking pens that help hide flies in the water. If all those markings works for naturals as camoflage to hide from preditors, wouldn't all those black markings help make the fly less noticable? And less strikes?
