Sep 8, 2011 - They were hair metal early on though, especially Fight For The Rock and aspects of Power Of The Night, but not to say this is a bad thing. I personally love the old stuff, really heavy, sinister and raw. I haven't found anything else like it. Then you get the later Progressive stuff, where as tday34 has mentioned, the lyrics are amazingly in depth. Certainly not hai9r metal anymore though, not even during Hall Of the Mountain King... :D

Rush is probably the most amazing 3 piece band of all time, with Geddy playing enough instruments to almost consider them a 5 piece. Coincidentally, my brother in law and his wife will be having their first kid in a few month's, the name will be Geddy. That's a fan.

I saw Savatage two weeks before Criss was killed. I was as crushed as everyone else to hear the news. It is the "record labels" that pressure the "change" in music and style . Also, it was bands like Nirvana that brought an end to this great era of music. Do not mock God, VENGEANCE IS MINE! saith the Lord. Godspeed to you.
