Mar 12, 2012 - ahh this video makes me so happy to see! and you're right. learning to sign as a baby and learning to talk won't hurt a child at all. a study showed that bilingual babies may actually be smarter, and asl is indeed a language. yay!

Apr 6, 2012 - Fantasstic! Studies show that babies who are raised bilingually also have a slight delay in mastering one language, but the benefits are worth a slight delay IMO. This is such a sensitive period for learning languages, take advantage of it! Your daughter has 20 words verbally, which is great, no delay there!

Apr 11, 2012 - Anytime is good, it's really up to you! Many parents start between 6-9 months. I started with both my children at 4 months. My son signed back at 6 months and my daughter at 9.5 months.
