Title: Dave Edmunds and Rockpile - Girls Talk
Added: Jun 10, 2006
Author: Americansquirm
Duration: 2:52
Description:
Looks like a clip from some English TOtP-type show, maybe fellow YT users can help me with this one. Either way, Dave and the boys run through Elvis Costello's "Girls Talk," apparently on the same rooftop where they shot a few 45 covers for Carlene Carter.

Feb 29, 2012 - While we're at it, let's suspend the accounts of people with no sense of humor and take things inappropriately seriously.

Mar 4, 2012 - SOUNDS LIKE a guitar w/ doubled tremolo & slight reverb through an Ampeg amp.

Mar 4, 2012 - thanks elephantrange, you have the superior knowledge..-when i listen to the break i always thought there was a bit of violin in there, the sound seemed more than a guitar...cheers for the quick reply!

Mar 18, 2012 - Great arrangement and performance (though a little short here). The mighty Rockpile -- saw them open for Blondie and they totally stole the show though the crowd was too dumb to know!I can't say for sure but it sounds to me like the guitar solo is sequenced through a Leslie.
TheSaxup Says:
Mar 21, 2012 - Saw Rockpile in Montreux opening for costello, stole the show all the same !

Apr 18, 2012 - Yes, that is Nick on bass. He got his start with Rockpile. As a matter of fact his solo album Labor of Lust was actually Rockpile.

May 14, 2012 - You're having a laugh with "he got his start with Rockpile". Nick Lowe was around for years before he joined Rockpile. With Brinsley Schwarz for a start. Check them out, good band.
