Santana beim Woodstock Festival am Samstag, den 16. August 1969. Santana hatten gerade ihr erstes Album aufgenommen. Obwohl die Menge im Chor „No Rain („kein Regen) rief und, um dies zu untermauern, auf diverse Objekte klopfte, gehörte der Auftritt mit dem Song Soul Sacrifice zu den Höhepunkten des Festivals. Die Bühnenmannschaft hatte Lattenreste verteilt, die die Fans nun im Takt zu diesem Song gegeneinander schlugen. Das bald nach dem Festival erschienene Debütalbum der Band schaffte es hauptsächlich wegen des 45-minütigen Festival-Auftrittes in die Top 5 der Albumcharts in den USA.
