Mar 15, 2012 - Please! someone! Tell, what the name of this song????

Mar 17, 2012 - James Cameron's 80s films better than David Cronenberg's? No way. Cameron has nothing on Cronenberg. Granted, I like Alien and The Thing over The Fly . . . but they aren't ahead of it by a wide margin. Cameron will never make a movie even close to it with all the monstrous budget and CGI in the world.

scooterok1 Says:

Mar 17, 2012 - Ok, what Cronenberg films beat "Aliens and Terminator 1+2"? I ill exclude The Thing in this because James Cameron didnt make that.

Wytchfinde Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - Even without Cronenberg's depth and talent Alien and Terminator 2 are highly overrated. Do you honestly think Cameron could have crafted The Fly, The Brood, or Dead Ringers? No. I find Cameron's dialogue to his films superficial and he leans heavily on effects and action to cover up anything intriguing themes. He doesn't care about motifs and I don't think his characters are well-fleshed out (although I do like Terminator 1 still to this day; that's probably his best).

Wytchfinde Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - Oh yeah, The Dead Zone. Great flick as well.

Wytchfinde Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - Note that I didn't mention Avatar because some people think that's "deep" as well despite borrowing heavily from other films. Can't say I was impressed with that, either. I keep it more around the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s here.

Wytchfinde Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - That being said, I can also play fan and critic---I thought Cronenberg's Naked Lunch was too frickin' weird for its own good (and yeah, I'm familiar with Burroughs' books; too much drug-induced prose for my taste). Ambitious? Yes. Bizarre and alienating? That, too. BUT I have to say I probably give The Thing over The Fly as well because that's a personal fave of mine; and yeah, there's much in that film that gives it replay value.

scooterok1 Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - Cameron relies heavily on special effects and not CGI like most modern directors do which is plain lazy, but Carpenter in The Thing got it spot on with the effects. The Dead Zone is an absolute must see, as i love the book. Note that i dont have one favourite director, i have multiple favourites: Ridley Scott, David Cronenberg, James Cameron, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, David Fincher.

scooterok1 Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - They all have their masterpieces. The question is which masterpiece is better than another masterpiece and thats not necessarily fair or often justified, but each to their own but im glad iv met another person with similar movie tastes :)

Wytchfinde Says:

Mar 18, 2012 - Yeah, I'm quite the fan of Ridley Scott, John Carpenter, and David Fincher as well. Can't forget Dario Argento with that.

lobelia2 Says:

Mar 21, 2012 - they should not have shown his transformation in the trailer

harold3456 Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - I, for one, am releieved that spoiling the movie in the trailer is a mistake they've ALWAYS been making, and not something that they just started doing in the last ten years or so since I've been seeing films. Misery loves company. :/

jamesellis33 Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - Whats wrong with that? oh, so eighties means good, everything else is shit. Say the facts.

CyberOne666 Says:

Apr 29, 2012 - The Fly is probably my all time favorite horror movie. The first time I watched it it left me speechless I loved it so much <3

YeOldClipper Says:

May 15, 2012 - The FLY has been known since the days of old as the FOLLY that makes the great ones seem foolish. The Fly... and the lord of the flies is all basic to the follies of man's history.

YeOldClipper Says:

May 15, 2012 - Satirical work.
