May 4, 2012 - He raps for a living, you think he doesn't want to make money from it? Ofcourse Nas isn't nearly as mainstream as Drake because Nas keeps it real. But Nas isn't an underground rapper either, in fact he's a millionaire. I'd say Nas is somewhere between underground and mainstream. He spits deep shit and street shit of course, but you can't say he has made NO mainstream music

May 4, 2012 - Ofc it may be nice to make money from it but he isnt like drake he isnt doin it primarily for the money thats all drakes in it for, what i meant was nas music sounds like what underground music currently sounds like, good and old school, the new school mainstream sound is drake, nas is technically mainstream ofcourse but do u think he wud blow up as much as he did if he started now, with the same music, iofc not becus ppl want the pop sounding music like nikki minaj, hope u understand wat imeant

May 9, 2012 - There is nothing wrong with people trying to live of their art! There is nothing wrong with artists thinking about their listeners as long as those considerations don't limit their art form! So quite talking about selling out!

OcularN Says:
May 4, 2012 - nowadays mainstream is not just a label its a sound, mainstream music sounds different for reasons u will never understand, nas currently has made no new mainstream music i mean look at his last album compared to a nikki minaj or drake album, u think making money is the goal, ure opinion of hiphop/rap will forever be frowned upon, ask nas what that album was made for, gurantee his primary ansa wud be to express his opinions on the topic, underground artists make music for no money
