Jan 19, 2012 - Frankly, I've driven both the M6 and the V coupe and without a doubt, the V is infinitely better. If GM doesn't aim for the benchmark, then they are just trying to be mediocre. BMW had to make the M5 better because they were tired of getting their asses handed to them by some Americans out of Detroit, but no matter how you look at it, its an accomplishment for American cars.

It doesnt make any sense to make the old m5 when there is a new 5 series and it is supposed to be the benchmark of the CURRENT 5 series. They didnt make one for the reason you stated. And if you wanna argue then all I have to say is its been this way since the introduction of the m5.
