It's heavy enough that it will even go through the glass eye-first. He also gives the impression he releases it a good deal farther from the glass than he actually does. If you watch closely, you'll see it happens only an inch or 2 away. The "qi gathering" act beforehand helps too.Nothing amazing here; just physics.
