Nov 17, 2009 - Funny that Mr. Scott liked this film, yet hated the recent "Black Dynamite", which is on the same level of humor.

Aug 9, 2010 - You spent most of the review on the race issue and not the core of the film. Brooks didn't make this as some sort of social commentary piece either.

Nov 24, 2010 - co-written by Richard Pryor. he was supposed to play black bart but the producers were reluctant over his volative nature. I read Mel offered Gene Wilder's role to John Wayne who laughed and turned it down for obvious reasons. He did say he would be first in line to see it. The role eventually went to Gig Young but he was too drunk after a week of shooting and was replaced by Wilder.
