Conklin started due to Jimmy Howard's broken index finger, and Joey MacDonald was called up from the AHL Grand Rapids team the evening prior. He played a pretty solid game, since Detroit was down 3-1, allowing Detroit to tie in up, and eventually take the lead late in he 3rd. But Edmonton scored on a late goal, and won in a shootout. MacDonald has won 5 straight at Joe Louis Arena, extending the Home streak to 22 wins in a row!
