Apr 17, 2012 - I may have posted this previously. The way they did the gore effect was by using a pneumatic tube filled with fake blood out of frame to the right rear of Jackson's head. When Pesci raises the gun, they "fire" the pneumatic tube launching the gore at the bed in front of Jackson, then in editing Scorsese edits out the frames showing the point of origin of the blood, but he didnt edit out enough frames IMO, you can see the blood flying about midway. Add in silencer pistol firing foley in synch.
