May 26, 2012 - It has 6 strings, you just can't notice the bottom 2 because not only are they much thinner strings, but they are usually not coated with anything so it's just plain steel. My acoustic strings are bronze coated so the top four strings come up that clearer to the naked eye. Hope that helps!
