Nov 19, 2008 - This is an eye-opening video!! We all know that there are hazardous chemical disposal sites all around, but this is a blatant act of racism!! They figure that people who live in Chester are disposable!! This is like the site in China where we are sending all of our old electronics for them to disassemble so the different things can be recovered. This is NOT right, and something has to be done about it!! The question is what, and how? Any suggestions??

Jan 5, 2009 - Racism is not the only target. It's anyone who is ignorant, poor, uneducated and doesn't have a voice. Anybody who falls under this umbrella could easily become a victim of these polluting industries. The reality is "profit in exchange for human life."

Jun 4, 2009 - They aint no such thang as environmental racism. It just so happens that black people are typically poorer than their white counterparts due to lower of intelligence (Bell curve). As a need for employment arises, blacks will tend to reside near factories that produce pollution. As the blacks began to migrate into the urban communities, the traditional Caucasian residents begin moving out to the suburbs in what we call white flight. NATURAL OCCURRENCE + NOT RACISM

Kirilltraceur Says:

Jun 4, 2009 - "lower intelligence" I disagree.

Sep 13, 2009 - This is sad, i saw chester on my way to phialdelphia by train from washington dc, looked like a warzone from the train, abandoned houses burnt down housen big rusty refineries next to em and the sad thing is this wasn't only chester it was practically the whole route from washington to NYC that wee saw those kind of sceneries, i knew there was poverty in the U.S. but never saw it with my own eyes being from Europe( the netherlands)

blapblap053 Says:

Sep 13, 2009 - Now i wouldnt say that everything in my country is perfect cause it isn't but this is madness!! one of the richest countries in the world! it's a shame people have to live this way!! it's unthinkable that the government of my country is spending billions on a war and nothing on it's own people don't get me wrong i enjoyed my holliday in the USA think it's a great country but it's a shame seeing many people have to live in misery, never seen so much homeless people in my life especially in Philly

blapblap053 Says:

Sep 13, 2009 - hope you people hang on, and find a way to get rid of those filthy incinerators and refineries, greetings form The Netherlands(Holland)

custardaghost Says:

Oct 11, 2010 - Houston is like this only worse.

custardaghost Says:

Oct 11, 2010 - Above all things, the USA values and ensures the absolute freedom of business to do whatever business wants. Its why politicians are entirely in the pockets of corporations and their lobbyists, why the EPA is toothless, why the bullshit pretence of "local power" or state's rights really means no laws or regulations at all.

airman842 Says:

Dec 10, 2010 - @custardaghost all I can say is Republican Congressional Power. They have worked hard to destroy the environment over the years. They don't give a f*ck

airman842 Says:

Sep 6, 2011 - @Ramboy208 Not sure I follow. What is political theory? Does political theory not consist of environmental policy AND economics? Politics cover a huge area. Back to the point though... Republicans don't give a damn about going green. The top Republican says global warming is a theory. It's scientifically proven and supported by 99% of climatologists, including my cousin who has his Ph.D in atmospheric science. Economic conservatives (republicans mostly) do not support environmental protections
