Duration: 23:21
Description:
As the world's roads become ever more crowded, many manufacturers are looking to single and narrow track vehicles as cars of the future which will reduce congestion. This video examines Nissans tandem two-seat, half width tilting car, the Landglider, and examines all the other work being done around the world as narrow track vehicles begin to make their case. Vehicles covered include Renault Twizy Z.E., Volkswagen L1, Yamaha Tesseract, VentureOne, Peugeot Hybrid3 Evolution, Peugeot Hybrid3 Compressor, Nissan PIVO II, Lumeneo Smera, Tilting Car Project, Sidam XNovo, Piaggio MP3 HyS, Xingyue, Auto Moto, Adiva Moose, Adiva 3Route, BMW C3 Electric, Tango, and the reasons behind global traffic congestion

Apr 20, 2012 - It'd be cool if one of these vehicles can use a gas turbine-electric system.

Apr 20, 2012 - It's a great concept but then what do you do with people who have children? Strap them to the roof? We just need to move to people movers across the world, eliminate cars completely. People walk more, we move to electric vehicles for transportation and the environment isn't affected by air pollution. It's all full of win.

Apr 20, 2012 - Except for all the coal burned to generate the electricity for the cars (or radioactive waste from nuclear plants), yeah no pollution.

Apr 20, 2012 - Nathan Fillion via Zach Levi. Hopefully the battery technology advances to the point that the battery powered ones are practical for more than short distance travel.

Apr 27, 2012 - I sold my car 1.1.2012 You can have my road space. Hope it helps. Nahh, we'll all be having helicopters by then. Don't we? I have a cunning plan: Why have big cities grow further? Why not using public transport? So to sum it up: You double the number of lanes and passengers by using narrow vehicles side by side. The Ford Fiesta, a 4-5 passenger car, once had 450kg. So where's the progress?

May 16, 2012 - Too much jibber jabber. I don't need a lecture to know that a moped or motorcycle cuts through the traffic. Reduced footprint = reduced travel time. More funky cars please.

May 16, 2012 - this commentator make me very very sleepy..good video but poor talking
potnoodles90 Says:
May 25, 2012 - I ride a motorbike, only a 350 for every day use. It's hard to fit through traffic on that sometimes. What chance do these things have unless you make lanes for them which means 5 seater cars are no longer an option... Which brings back the carbon footprint argument as you now need.2 of these. There's clearly not the space to have lanes for both vehicles. That's the reason these are being made? I don't understand it...
