Mar 17, 2011 - Marines started issuing MARPAT in around 2002-2003. Generation Kill takes place at around 2003, thus you will see some officers issued Desert MARPAT, others still with the desert camo.

Mar 27, 2011 - Haha, nice man. That's fucking awesome. You went through a lot of shit in the gulf war, thank you for your service!
yesiamawizardjonny Says:
Mar 27, 2011 - This was the invasion of Iraq 2003. Watch the series, it's undoubtedly the best show ever made...
yesiamawizardjonny Says:
Mar 27, 2011 - Yeah they did. This show follows everything that happened to them, based off of Evan Wright's, "Generation Kill." The reporter that was really there.
yesiamawizardjonny Says:
Mar 27, 2011 - Ok, you're the dumbshit. Military Intel doesn't deal with camouflage. These aren't soldiers, they're marines. It's woodland Camo, btw. You're the dumbshit, think before YOU type.

May 11, 2011 - i did both
ThePrincessMoonbeam Says:
May 11, 2011 - they where being tested around that time. they didn't come out about "a decade" later but about 2 to 5 years later, depending on your unit
ThePrincessMoonbeam Says:
May 11, 2011 - leftovers from desert storm

Aug 6, 2011 - lets make profit out of war by making movies..well movies are better than the real deal.. and HBO knows how to make movies.

Sep 23, 2011 - What happened to him? :o
petehjr1 Says:
Sep 24, 2011 - They are still left over from being ready to fight in Western Europe, hence woodland. Before Desert Storm the DoD didn't have a plan for a multi division scale land battle in a desert environment. Only at the brigade level in case we had to insert troops into the Sinai Desert. That is the reason why there were still using Woodland camo armor and MOPP gear. So the Cav guys had desert stuff in the first gulf war and 1st AD had all green.
yesiamawizardjonny Says:
Sep 24, 2011 - Yeah I know. They military doesn't always have the right camouflage, but these two morons were making fun of and defaming the excellent people who DO work as military intelligence. I just hate liberal assholes who think they can go around trashing on the military and nobody will care. To be honest, I'd probably kick this guy's ass in real life for going around bad-mouthing the brave men and women who had the courage to enlist. All these fucks are only brave enough to go on youtube.
yesiamawizardjonny Says:
Sep 24, 2011 - I can't wait to enlist.
petehjr1 Says:
Sep 25, 2011 - Nah it iwas a false alarm.

Oct 16, 2011 - The reporter got the desert camo...hehehe that says a lot about our military haha
jackie901 Says:
Oct 18, 2011 - And the laid back Iraqi interpreter got US Desert camo aswell, and a shotgun hehe
NorthWriter Says:
Dec 21, 2011 - I laughed so hard at the scene where Reporter is flopping around in his MOPP suit with the big floppy overshoes because I've seen that same scene played out so many times in real life. This show and the book (which is also amazing) really have made me consider reenlisting. I spent 9 years in, and then got out. May as well go do the other 11 and retire, right? Now to convince my wife that that's the best idea...

dasdasist Says:
Mar 11, 2011 - yeah Marines are known to not be well funded as the army, thats why they are the few and proud and have to do well with what they have, not fancy tech
