Oct 1, 2007 - such a sad and moving story. For some reasons I resonate with Lotus Flower even though this is a different time for Asian women.

LadyAdokenai Says:

Jan 26, 2008 - wow, Lotus Flower was WAAAAY too forgiving! I wouldn't have forgiven him. And then she gives his new wife her son?? WTF. but, I assume she committed suicide at the end, so I guess she was planning it from the time she handed over her son...so sad! thanks for allowing us all to enjoy this movie. :3

Christo764 Says:

Mar 14, 2009 - Thank you for posting this very historic and illuminating film. It shows so well the Hollywood code of that time.By enabling a new generation to so easily see this film, you help keep alive our collective memory of Anna May Wong.

vindicatedxjin Says:

Mar 18, 2009 - What a douche bag of a man for being such an ass hole. I would punched him and his ugly wife and been like listen bitch...U lied so go die!

bztom33 Says:

May 17, 2009 - I too was touched by this movie.

The1Teela Says:

Sep 17, 2009 - I think the reason she gave her child to the other wife is because she knew that she was going to kill herself and wanted to make sure her child was provided for.As for your question in part 4, that's a bit trickier but here's what I think: Allen probably just never told his wife that he was married in another country. I suspect that his wife just found out about Lotus Flower, but this is not stated directly, and so there's no real way of telling other than speculation.

Oct 22, 2009 - I lovw youtube, what a great thing for education, most rare stuff u will find here :)

rrruizzz Says:

Nov 11, 2009 - How sad. Lotus Flower did not deserve to be punished like that in any way. She lived her life as a faithful woman just to be mistreated so wrongfully. She should have thrown that excuse for a man back into the sea from the get-go.

NekoHime1994 Says:

Dec 16, 2009 - This is such a sad story I feel so bad for Lotus flower. Very good movie. =( I will definately be getting this one on Dvd.

Feb 17, 2011 - I love the music in this movie, especially the music at the end scene of the sea :'( so sad

ninjapretender Says:

Mar 22, 2011 - This movie is beautiful, but the story is troubling for me. I don't think a real person would accept what happened to Lotus Flower so easily. If it were me, I definitely wouldn't have given up my son and tragically killed myself. But I've never felt as heartbroken as she must have. And those were different times - she didn't have many options.

Jun 1, 2011 - totally

lilypondlane Says:

Jun 4, 2011 - The sadness of a mother parting with her child is unbearable.I must say that this little boy who played the son is a very good little actor. He did a terrific job. This movie has one of the saddest endings that I have ever seen.

lilypondlane Says:

Jun 4, 2011 - I just discovered that the little boy was actually played by a little girl named Priscilla Moran who had a very sad life. Check out her bio on IMDb.com.

ethersmithsmasher Says:

Jun 29, 2011 - Well, this film is ridiculously unrealistic and is pretty much identical to madame butterfly, but it's still a sad and touching story and teaches us to not marry some loser who floated in from another continent and makes empty promises! Tsch!

Thefilmguy100 Says:

Feb 12, 2012 - This is definitely from the UCLA restoration. No prints survive, only the camera neg, missing the last reel. UCLA shot those waves at the end to fill in the gap. The wear could be because this is a VHS dub from a print struck by UCLA for exhibition.
