Jan 10, 2012 - they are also brainwashing camps, back when japan got hit by the huge earthquake and tsunami and the their nucluer power plants were melting down our class was having a discussion about it and the teacher was saying how radiation is good for you and only crazy paranoid people worry about that stuff. she was basically repeating what anne coulter and other mainline news was saying about how radiation is good for you.

Jan 10, 2012 - The dumbing down is certainly evident in the Bush family !

Jan 11, 2012 - @dolittleskippyHistory is more than 2 things that you have just read on Wikipedia. It is first about the context and some brains. Facts:1. Vlad was never ruler in Transylvania. So, where is your Transylvanian dynasty?2. There is no proof whatsoever that any present day royal is related to him. 3. You should be scared of him only is you are a thief, a corrupt person, a murderer or a dishonest person. For the good people, he wasn't scary. In fact he is considered a national hero.

Jan 11, 2012 - Alex is such a dip shit, he just does not know how to stop cutting people off. I find it funny how he tries to make people think that all the info comes from him, what a lil bitch

Jan 12, 2012 - first we need you to be against corny capitalism. Learn about Austrian economics. Also I add bankers love to cause business cycles they pump up markets sell at the peak and then when it bottom they buy and sell when the market covered. go for your dream. elites win when you give up.

Jan 13, 2012 - In high school (in Portugal in the 70's) I was fooled into believing that memorization was somewhat reprehensible and not real learning. Now I find it extremely difficult to learn difficult foreing languages (I had to give up Japanese) as memorizing. Critical thinking is very important, absolutely, but there's a place for memory exercises too.
theantisauronist Says:
Jan 13, 2012 - When I was in high school in Portugal it was exacly the same thing. I came to believe that the "system" decided to downgrade the educational system big time to facilitate the transference of industry and wealth from the west to China.
Gnostic279 Says:
Jan 14, 2012 - Nothing like being politely put in your place by an old lady. You interrupted her Alex, ok?
Gnostic279 Says:
Jan 14, 2012 - Ty, for many years I have had to explain the difference between actually being smart and knowing a lot of information. I have known several people in my life who IQ tested genius and yet did not possess one personal original thought. They knew a lot of info and that's about it. On the other hand I am completely original thinking and I tested high in IQ, but I know very little. So little that I have trouble trying to articulate my thoughts into words others can understand.
theantisauronist Says:
Jan 14, 2012 - @Gnostic279 I'm somewhat confused about what kind of IQ test those "genial" people you know did. I've only done one in my late teens and quite a lot of it was logic based, and there's absolutely no way that someone who just has a great memory would do particularly well in one of those.

Jan 14, 2012 - I'm curious. A lot of people's posts here are well thought out, lucid, and indicate a thirst for knowledge. Your post, on the other hand, does none of this. Additionally, it smacks of a narcissistic little person who really has no ability to reason, yet for some strange reason wants to see his name amongst those who think. Please, I think your mom wants you to go upstairs now and take out the trash.
eraffel Says:
Jan 14, 2012 - The first thing I would do is sit down with my parents and lay it all out, and see if you can detect where they are coming from. Tell them your concerns to gauge if they have given as much thought as you have. Ask them questions. Then, your best weapon is knowledge. Read, read, read. Become familiar with information so you can confidently speak about your concerns. Finally, hang on.

Jan 16, 2012 - I can to see the comments because I thought there was going to be people talking about how alex interrupted her and I was right! lol
Gnostic279 Says:
Jan 25, 2012 - OK, I take back my thanks as I see now I missed the point you were making in that post. 1: OK one example is seeing a picture of a puzzle and being timed on how fast you put it back together. The 1-dimensional thinker sees the picture and immediately starts to put it together. The artistic thinker will look at the picture and see many different possible variations of that picture and representations that relate to images in that picture.
Gnostic279 Says:
Jan 25, 2012 - 2:He may also decipher feelings and images from memory that image may have related to. Who do you think will test better in IQ? While the 1-dimensional thinker quickly does the task at hand without any deeper understanding of the functions of that task the multi-dimensional thinkers will be slower and therefore test lower in IQ despite having a much better sense of function and possibilities related to the task. That's what they want 1d thinkers who do the task and not ask questions.
theantisauronist Says:
Jan 26, 2012 - I see, I think... Timing responses is unfair anyway, as slower minds should not be considered, obligatorily, less important than fast ones.
kryptonitezirconium7 Says:
Jan 31, 2012 - Firstly, I agree that the education system is the tool of the devil. Why does Alex have a problem with operative conditioning and pavlovian/skinner education? The bible says that God uses such techniques to train his servants "they that come to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him". In other words God's method for training is to reward the right behaviour and punish the wrong behaviour. Does he mean they are not actually being rewarded.
Gnostic279 Says:
Feb 5, 2012 - Well, the point I was trying to make is that we general rate intelligence with an I.Q. test which is fundamentally flawed. There are many nuances to intelligence and that test is mostly just looking for the data collector who can focus and perform simple instructions by accessing memory. I just think that people who can look at the data from different perspectives and manipulate and enterchange it are much smarter people.
zurichdublin188 Says:
Feb 7, 2012 - So basically she is saying that whites going to school with NIGGERS and spics ruins the education system. Big fucking shock there. LOLAlex is like "well you are an expert in the education system Ma'am..."
marionetemanJ Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - Do you know that Christianity is correct? The world around us reveals that G-d DOES exist, and the historical evidence reveals that Jesus Christ really did come to this earth and there is overwhelming evidence that Jesus Christ really did physically rise from the dead. Jesus is coming again and the signs of the end times that were foretold in the Bible are coming to pass.

Mar 16, 2012 - zurichdublin 188....its obvious you have no education. When an individual has no intelligence they resort to cuss words and racial insults. As of now a course is on you and your family.

Jan 10, 2012 - i work in teaching english as a foreign language in vietnam.(i know, no caps) and i can tell you in 5+ years of doing it, the system here was designed to not teach. ok, ok, students learn literacy early but then spend their academic lives learning useful things like calligraphy and rote memorization to the extent that college applicants must qualify by perfect memorization of hundred word texts, while systemically being frowned apon for any critical thinking or innovation.
