Dec 16, 2011 - Yes, cheer as another individual building is torn down never to be seen again. I hope you remember the cheers when we regret destroying all these buildings in 10-20 years time. You all realise that in the 60's, Victorian buildings were ugly and seen as eyesores, again in the 80s and 90s, Art Deco style buildings slated as eyesores and demolished. Read up on it. This is just history repeating itself...

Dec 23, 2011 - I should say I'd laugh if some historic part of YOUR city was destroyed by terrorists (along with the thousands of people in it), but then I'd be as much of a soulless fuck as you are. That goes double for the 15 utter assholes who voted this comment up

Jan 5, 2012 - They're not Art Deco in the slightest! It's Brutalist architecture, a style to make buildings look intimidating through the use of raw Concrete. I doubt it would ever be a cherished building...
Rydo182 Says:
Jan 5, 2012 - You missed the entire point of my post. I am saying that the attitude that people like you have, that exact mentality of short sighted current hate for post war buildings, is the same sort of short sighted current trending opinions that they had of Victorian buildings in the 60's. This is the reason why such a magnificent structure as St. Enoch station and hotel in Glasgow was destroyed.

Jan 6, 2012 - Don't talk nonsense! Victorian & other period buildings were designed to look good and be habitable. Brutalist architecture was designed to look intimidating and most were very un-inhabitable due to poor construction methods and lack of Community in relation to their very design. Stop talking rubbish!
Rydo182 Says:
Jan 6, 2012 - I don't agree with you and so I talk nonsense. Childish remarks. Brutalist architecture was grandeur on a modern basis, in the same way the massive arches of a building a few hundred years old does. The fact is many people from these types of community enjoyed their stay there and any film form their early days portrays a happy life in these buildings. Most of these developments had community centres that were well used in the beginnings.

Mar 6, 2012 - Is it just me or does this look chillingly similar to what happened on 9/11? Coincidence? You decide.
