Dec 14, 2011 - yeah - well mate a 1959 mini had about 34 bhp when it came out- and the same car above 150 bhp...so do the maths lets take a new BMW Mini cooper and give it what 700 bhp?
pennypacker93 Says:
Dec 14, 2011 - honda V tec. yep.
WickedTRX Says:
Dec 18, 2011 - that's not a VTEC honda engine, that's a 16V head on a A-series block, there's a few companies doing it, this one is a Jack Knight head, they'r similar to the KAD heads, there's too 16v valve conversions using BMW motorcycle heads. so that's not "just" an engine conversion.

Jan 24, 2012 - anyone know where this mini is now? I believe it was built by Rover for the Frankfurt motor show.
cheesydalek Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Never seen the point in modifying mini engines to this degree. My 1979 1000 feels like youre doing a 60 when you're doing 30! Original A-Series for the win, they managed to win the monte carlo with a standard engine so this really is slightly pointless, i love the look, just not the power!

Feb 2, 2012 - i can probably jump over it with a running start
spinaltap75 Says:
Feb 12, 2012 - This isn't an A series with a 16v head, it's the 1.4 motor out of the metro gti, but it's running on throttle bodies rather than the standard injection system. I think it was done by BRM for Rover as a one off. But BRM did do a ltd edition Rover 200 with the racing green and Orange colour scheme.
