dettanator Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - What is this video called?

seamanmeeker Says:

Feb 9, 2012 - This is the DVD they give you when you are going out for any "spec ops" in the navy like Diver, SWCC, SEAL, EOD, and AIRR. Before you leave for rtc.

Feb 12, 2012 - is there a way civilians can buy this DVD?

iggy58 Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - I just typed in Combat Swimmer Stroke and this clip came up. This is the little clip that lost my gut and love handles. I love this little clip. It has helped a lot of my friends as well. I am sure glad justdfactsmaam posted it.

iggy58 Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - I was told by the retired SEAL that this stroke wont wear you out nor reveal the splash that will give u away to the enemy. You expend more energy doing freestyle and splash more. Your hands are not to break the surface according to and loudly cussed at by the retired frog that helped me. LOL

iggy58 Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - I was confused at first and swallowed a few gallons of water, but I alternate so I do both sides on one lap.

casf120 Says:

Feb 23, 2012 - you dont need to be spending that much time in the pool. If you can hit sub 9 minutes on the swimming portion of the seal pst, then you can focus on everything else. Im currently training for buds and i dont swim near that much its just not necessary. swim 6 days a week but focus on your 500y sprint. for your long days swim 1-2 miles. at least once a week swim 1-2 miles with fins, thats big in buds. you need to strengthen your ankles as 90% of swims use fins

casf120 Says:

Feb 23, 2012 - (continued) also if you are having problems with your shins, make sure you take in plenty of calcium, 4-6 glasses of milk a day. Start of your running low. only about 10-15 miles per week. do this for a good month to two months to strengthen the joints and shins. once you feel strong without getting injuries, every week increase the distance by 10%. Also it is important to do sprints at your local track, the short fast distances will increase your overall pace

casf120 Says:

Feb 23, 2012 - (continued 2) big thing to focus on is your 4 mile run. In buds they run timed 4 mile runs every week, and you can get dropped if you dont hit the time required. try to work on getting your 4 mile down between 24-28 min. in buds you will have to be able to run 4 miles with combat boots on sand in under 28 min. just pace yoruself and work hard and you can achieve it

IndiaEight5 Says:

Mar 3, 2012 - Are these guys in what they call the "SEAL Mentor Program" or something like that?

Vandelayindustries62 Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - Thats false information. You will never have to run under 28 minutes on the 4 mile timed run in BUD/S. In first phase it is 32 minutes. Second phase it is 31. Third phase it is 30.

casf120 Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - read Stew Smith's 12 weeks to bud/s he mentions that you will have to run it under 28 min. He is a former seal

Vandelayindustries62 Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - He probably said that in preparation for the sand runs to be able to, but at training you will never have to. I speak to Senior Chief Don Shipley and Rick Fuciarelli often who are both retired SEALs. You don't have to run 4 miles at a sub 7 minute mile.

MadBrewhaus Says:

Apr 3, 2012 - Anyone know what SEALS do to 'prevent' leg cramps in cold water? Quinine pills? FDA outlawed them for leg cramps but if they work then great. I've tried sodium, potassium pills, chug gatorade, bananas, stretch before and in water, extra leg workouts on land...nothing works. By hour 2 in cold water quads and hamstrings are both cramped. Can't move. Sitting duck. Dive buddy has to surface tow me back in. Any suggestions or tips greatly appreciated. Thx.

beek30 Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - Has anyone seen the Army Alarm Clock App? It's hilarious! A drill sergeant waking you up in the morning is priceless.

dirtylogs Says:

May 23, 2012 - Quinine is available with a prescription in the United States and over-the-counter, in very small quantities, in tonic water. Maybe try chugging tonic water?Otherwise, amphetamine or a type of stimulant would probably help in COLD water. Also a drug called REQUIP which is prescribed for restless leg syndrome may help? Okay I'm just guessing now, but hope I helped.

jusjordan47 Says:

May 26, 2012 - Every time i swim my left leading arm is sore after a workout and my shoulder aches, is this because my muscles arent conditioned in swimming? or im doing something wrong

ilovetoeatrice Says:

May 27, 2012 - it's a good idea to practice twisting both left and right (like maybe 2 laps only left-twist, then 2 laps only right-twist), otherwise you'll get over development on one side of your body
