Oct 4, 2011 - this made me cry!he is so wonderful!

Babyhowdy233 Says:

Oct 23, 2011 - I wish Larry King would back off a bit, rather than practically hover over Mandy through the entire song. It's distracting and just plain rude on Larry's part, IMHO.

drewh1979 Says:

Nov 4, 2011 - I think Larry was pretending he was at the bar listening Mandy sing at his house

Babyhowdy233 Says:

Nov 4, 2011 - Yours is certainly the BEST description I have read of Mandy yet!

Loejyrrab Says:

Dec 11, 2011 - Couldn't agree more. King was not only rude but he was down right creepy standing there. He appeared to be a dead man standing.

Babyhowdy233 Says:

Dec 11, 2011 - My very thought! :/

Loejyrrab Says:

Dec 11, 2011 - Mandy's a great performer, actor and I hear a nice guy. BUT, when he sings this falsetto style, it's the old fingernails on the blackboard. He sticks his hands out there and sings like Ethel Merman with cramps. However, when he sings in his baritone range he is wonderful. Watch him sing If I Loved You. Starts out gorgeous, "round in circles I go" beautiful masculine range. Then comes "I'd let my golden chances pass me by" in that creepy ass nasal/falsetto. Oy vey Mandy baby, bag the hi shit.

lcowles Says:

Dec 15, 2011 - I SO agree. I could never listen to Mandy for long periods because his high range sounds like Mickey Mouse...but his baritone is terrific.

Loejyrrab Says:

Dec 15, 2011 - Well, there ya have it, total agreement. Mandy has a very devoted fanbase so I expected to receive some vicious replies. You know, like drop dead, kiss Mandy's ass, etc. I respect the man's talent however. He's also originally from my neighborhood in Chicago. BUT, the hi-range in his voice is SOOOOOOOO irritating.BTW, I'm a tenor. See me here on YT. Enter Joel Barry. I sing Nessun Dorma, a Puccini aria.I hit a hi B but it's not nasal

ZayasChels333 Says:

Dec 17, 2011 - His voice is soooooo beautiful, just listening to that voice makes me tearful :D

APBroadway1 Says:

Jan 29, 2012 - You nailed it..

wgfinley Says:

Mar 13, 2012 - Mandy has a very unique head voice, there is no doubt about that. I get some people don't like it but you can't deny what he does with it. You don't win a Tony with an "irritating" voice. He has an impecable Broadway career and is acknowledged as the premier male Sondheim interpreter and you can't take that away from him either just because you claim to be a B4 lyric tenor, it's a completely unrelated style.

Loejyrrab Says:

Mar 13, 2012 - Mandy is very talented. I always give him that. He has been a major star on Broadway, TV, film etc. But, I just can't stand it when he switches back and forth, from a very resonant & exciting baritone to his very nasal falsetto voice. Echh! I'm prepared to catch hell from his fans but tough, that's how I hear his voice.

HopeWithPandora Says:

Apr 7, 2012 - 'wishes are children'... beautiful as is the whole of this song!Grown-ups should listen to this everyday : )))

lindajeanwinn Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Ya'll are all so crazy - Mandy is magnificent no matter what/how he sings - he shows such passion and electricity in his songs - he gives me goose bumps whenever I hear him, whatever the song - saw him once in person and there is non other like him - ya'll are just know it all whatevers that critize him without closing your eyes and really listening to him

lindajeanwinn Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - and getting into the song

Loejyrrab Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Well, hold on a minute. I just re-read my posts re: Mandy. I did give him props for his oustanding career. Great actor and star in many areas. And, like me, he's Jewish. BUT, his falsetto range will always drive me bonkers, period. But hey, go for it.

Josquinquin Says:

Apr 21, 2012 - I wish he would have just SUNG it. His over-emphasized interpretation steals from the beauty of Sondheim's melody.

MyAul Says:

Apr 21, 2012 - there are many, many overly sung versions of the song that emphasize the music rather than the words. This one is very well sung, yet PERFORMED so that the lyrics are given their due emphasis. Listen to Streisand's if you want just the pretty melody

KimberlyTopiaDotCom Says:

Apr 25, 2012 - He is such an incredible artist. What a WONDERFUL, soul-pulling vocal quality. Love his acting too. :)

Beekeeper911 Says:

May 4, 2012 - I have to learn that beautiful song...so true! What an outstanding performance!
