I installed this light show at a friends home in Fountain Valley, CA. It's dedicated to the memory of Larry Stewart who passed away on May 15th, 2011. Larry and his wife always wanted to do something big for Christmas, this is their dream come to fruition, I was glad to assist in making this happen.This setup consists of 56,100 LEDs (220 StellaGreen strings controlled by 15 StellaScapes E16-II controllers), programmed to dance to the music via MADRIX Ultimate running on a custom built Core i5-760 @ 2.8GHz w/ 8GB of RAM. The snowflakes, arches, mini trees, mega tree, & star topper were all made by me. Several custom effects were programmed in MADRIX. All networking, installation, research, programming, & all nighters performed by me (Damion)EDIT, the title says 54,020 LEDs, this error was brought to my attention by Fabian Gordon, a real good guy in the lighting scene. I arrived at 54,020 during one of many 48+ work days and made a mistake. It's really 56,100 LEDs. Too late to change the video now though :PI'd like to thank Jan for giving me the opportunity & trust to tackle this project. John Chapman of Engineering Solutions Inc. for his guidance & help as well as Andrew Frazer. Last but certainly not least,my wife for sticking by my side throughout this journey in "lightland"!Since people keep asking, or assuming this setup draws a lot power; The whole system draws a maximum of 24 Amps, it runs on 120v AC. So that equals 2880 watts. Basically if you run a hair dryer and a vacuum cleaner, it's nearly equivalent.Music is by Vector Mode - Little Drummer Boy. It's on the Hot Hits Christmas Dance Party CD1Ellis & Ward, go north on Ward, turn left on Apache River, you cant miss us. Show is run Dusk till 10pm.

Jan 1, 2012 - Cost is up there, I've got approximately 620 hours invested in this project. Since I did everything by hand, and by myself, I have to invest a lot of effort and time into it.

Apr 10, 2012 - good to see that you have used artnet II, I mostly use e1.31 from madrix on my stellagreens. 220 stellagreen strings that runs 110 DMX universe alone, like to see the size/price of a HOG2 running this against little Madrix :)

Apr 13, 2012 - I started out on this project using e1.31, but quickly realized it couldn't cut it. The switch to ArtNet-II was required due to the amount of data being pumped out over multicast.

Dec 27, 2011 - Absolutely incredible. I especially loved the all blue portion, and the dedication to your relative/friend, not sure which. It brought a tear to my eye. Very nice dedication. Truly remarkable. God Bless. PS- I do believe in my heart that Larry could see this Wonderful work of art and I'm sure he truly loved an appreciated it :)
