Feb 20, 2012 - That's how I found it ...I stood still in game and listened to it

Mar 13, 2012 - The first time I heard about this song was in BioShock as well. I loved it :) Was wonderfully creepy!

Mar 18, 2012 - Gevolt does a cover of this song called Bay Mir Bistu Sheyn
Anonomyous34 Says:
Mar 18, 2012 - its not the song that's creepy , its the juxtaposition of the song with the world of rapture.

Apr 1, 2012 - I heard this specific song from Bioshock, yes, but I have listened to Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong for some time before playing the game. The music of previous generations does rock, doesn't it?
Korovax Says:
Apr 4, 2012 - Need lyrics I don't understand a thing lol.
captainkillerkitten Says:
Apr 7, 2012 - i never really got why it mattered where people learned of songs and everyone thought they were better than the other for liking it first. what really matters is that we're enjoying the same music together amirite or
Alpha1200 Says:
Apr 9, 2012 - For the record Bioshock is absolutely about much more than "killing people for fun" about free will, a questioning mind set, ethics, the march of progress and economic ideologies. But I do agree that this music is great, that's why it was enough to make me stand still and appreciate it and then look it up here.
Alpha1200 Says:
Apr 9, 2012 - In addition to that many people worked very hard on that game to bring it to life, creating art both visually and story wise. So instead of being dismissive and disrespectful towards it, maybe you should be glad that this game has introduced so many people to this wonderful music.
pfewell Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - When you join the service and fight for the country, I think that automatically entitles you to some level of respect. While WWI was a very important war, your comment cheapens the efforts of the good men and women in the services in all times since then, without doing anything for that older generation. Shame on you. I can berate the politicians all day long, but have more respect for our fighting forces.
nauort23 Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - The Andrew sisters were born around WWI. This is from WWII, and even if that was a typo on your part, your comment is asinine. You clearly misunderstood what I was saying. Yet, in your own words, "[YOU] can berate the politicians all day long," but I should have more respect for whatever YOU respect? FUCK YOU.
pfewell Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - Yes, I meant WWII, but you are clearly insensitive and very disrespectful. HOW DARE YOU make light of the extreme sacrifices are fighting forces of ALL eras make. Yes, I respect ANY soldier who makes the ultimate sacrifice. If you do not also, then you are not worth spending any more time on. Making a statement "who fought a real war" is insulting to those in Vietnam and wars since then. I know people who were still tormented by what happened there, and after they got back. SHAME ON YOU!
pfewell Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - You are a jerk and a troll. The good things of one era do not condone making light or insulting other eras. I saw the video games part of your comment, but writing "fight a real war" is completely uncalled for. You cannot imagine the torment that some brave folks go through because of war. I do not agree with why we went to Vietnam, or some of the other conflicts since, but I do not for one second wish to slight our soldiers with insensitive comments like yours. SHAME ON YOU TROLL!
nauort23 Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - MORON, I didn't say ANYTHING WHATSOEVER about Vietnam (or any OTHER war fought by American service people) not being a real war. QUIT PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH, YOU FUCKING IDIOT. I have a BROTHER who served in Vietnam, and a brother in law who died from complications resulting from his tour in Vietnam, YOU SIMPLE FOOL!!!! I was referring to the many brats commenting here who play useless violent video games, which is where they learned about this song. SHAME ON YOU for being so stupid.
pfewell Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - Jerk, you don't have to say anything about those wars. The phase "who fought a real war" was used MANY times in the past by people who DID clearly spell out how they felt about Nam. IT IMPLIES other wars aren't "real wars", and coupled with our history, it is extremely inappropriate. Maybe you don't remember how it was for Nam vets returning home. They were often treated very poorly by people using the exact same words as you. You are an uncaring JERK. Quit using that term and show respect.
pfewell Says:
Apr 10, 2012 - And SHAME ON YOU for having family that are vets and STILL using loaded traditionally hate filled terms that were thrown around by many uncaring people. But, I have seen it before. You insult and swear at the drop of a hat, rather than go out of your way to be respectful. That makes you a hate filled troll. You have lived though times when vets were treated badly, you heard the arguments, you even used the same term, and you still call me a simple fool?!?! Go crawl under a rock.
pfewell Says:
Apr 11, 2012 - And why don't you go tell your brother that he didn't fight in a real war. Why don't you tell your brother in law's family that he did not die for a real war. Come on, the term "real war" just insults others because it has been used so much in careless ways. We all know Nam was a bad idea, but I know men who fought that still have nightmares and can't be in a quiet room alone because their demons won't give them peace. The term "real war" is inseparable from the protesters. Don't use it!
LEDZEPISCOOL Says:
Apr 12, 2012 - Fuckn' love video games.
TheKevin546 Says:
Apr 17, 2012 - Bioshock rules!!!!!
paulkate72 Says:
May 4, 2012 - What have all the super-aggro remarks published earlier here got to do with this excellent song from the 40s? War is ugly no matter which one a person fought in, yet politicians still keep on sending the young men of their countries out to fight. Very sad and so non-conflict-resolving.
MinisterAilingTongue Says:
May 19, 2012 - I just played Bioshock for the first time yesterday...and was disgusted to hear this in that context of horror. Fallout 3 managed to use the Andrews sisters in a funny way. Bioshock didn't. Love the song of course.

SuperHartline Says:
Feb 13, 2012 - A lot of people in the midwest went into records stores and asked for that new hit song, "My mere bits of shame."
