May 6, 2012 - sloppiest has to be Hendrix

May 7, 2012 - Saw this show at Madison Square Garden the same year. Great stuff.
MrLino Says:
May 7, 2012 - Yeah, unfortunately he has this kind of fame, but honestly, i think it's somehow unfair to call him that. Sure, he sounds sloppy at this recording, but he was still recovering from his drug addiction and the "liquid only" diet. If you check videos you can clearly see how skinny and high he was.Same happened in Knebworth and in my opinion Earl's Court. If you want to see Page at it's best, check the Royal Albert Hall gig.

May 9, 2012 - And thats based on what??
butterp7 Says:
May 9, 2012 - Isn't this the footage where Page was drooling at one point while playing this.
MrLaserprint Says:
May 10, 2012 - his playing style was very sloppy, he picked very loosely and there were always notes ringing out that shouldn't be. it was the way he played look at some of his live stuff on utube
butterp7 Says:
May 11, 2012 - You are out of your mind. Have you LISTENED to Band of Gypsy's...have you LISTENED to Baggy's Rehearsals. I can pull out a ton of shit that's not on youtube that obviously you haven't listened to. You try playing 60 gigs in 50 days and you tell me if your playing doesn't fall off at times.
coyolgringo Says:
May 12, 2012 - ladies and gentleman...with you...back together The Yardbirds!
MrLaserprint Says:
May 12, 2012 - i'm not saying that it's bad i'm just saying it was his style of playing which it was
Rexicano Says:
May 12, 2012 - Sure...Hendrix is sloppy...right...why is he still so famous? You're a clown nobody ever heard of.
rodd7 Says:
May 12, 2012 - Here's the thing if you don't play your songs EXACTLY like the record most people will CRITICIZE. So with that said, Hendrix, Page are fair game
MrLaserprint Says:
May 12, 2012 - because he was intentionally sloppy it was the way he played and it was brilliant
FreedomFromAlll Says:
May 14, 2012 - makes one appreciate the world of lossless.....
REDmarksONtheWALL Says:
May 19, 2012 - Jimmy probably played with more passion and confidence than a lot of his contemporaries. That led him to take a lot of risks both in the studio and live. Most of the time it was incredible, sometimes not so much. For every bum note he's recorded, he's probably played 60 stellar ones. And he must've been on heroin for this performance. This is an unusually bad performance.
Rexicano Says:
May 19, 2012 - I disagree. Although he's very heavy handed and stiff in his fingerpicking, he plays very well here overall. It's the DRUMMER here who really messes up. Go back and listen to where the drums come in and play drums in your head to the guitar...and you will see. Drums are off all over. Page does some subtle fills, ornaments and chord substitutions in the beginning that are very nice. His rhythm is very consistent and in places has a soothing legato. His Blues influence comes across.
Karen Matthews Says:
May 22, 2012 - Jimmy Page is God.
Karen Matthews Says:
May 22, 2012 - And I'm sure you're better, right?
Rexicano Says:
May 22, 2012 - I sure am...plenty of people are. His finger picking is pretty crude. But I'm sure since you asked you haven't a clue. But then I could care less about what you think. I don't know what you're crabbing about...I paid him compliments where due, so buzz off, um-kay?

DONDIVA1969 Says:
Apr 25, 2012 - Page is the clunkiest and sloppiest guitar idol that I've ever heard.
