May 23, 2012 - Also for those that cannot afford food and healthcare, there are aid workers that are able to provide that for free in Africa. In North korea, food and healthcare equipments that were sent from other countries were given to the more loyal, more privileged society in the capital of pyongyang, which is unavailable to the rest of north korea since they are not allowed to visit the capital. so the hospitals in other cities suffer on their own.

May 1, 2012 - I recalled two years ago, when I was privileged to visit Uiju, DPRK for a day. It's a border town located east of the Yalu River, right alongside China. Boats full of tourists would throw food into the water and the locals, some clothed some naked, would all sprint into the river to get. It was no different than feeding animals in a zoo, as they themselves are locked in cages. Staying there for a day was already hard enough for me, and just imagine those who have to live there forever :-(
