May 20, 2012 - George Harrison wrote "I'm Happy Just to Dance with You". The practice was that whoever was responsible for most of the writing of a song, also sang the song. There are a few exceptions such as Love Me Do which John wrote but Paul sang so John could play the harmonica.

John thought the song was a throwaway, but decided to give it to George because the vocal range of the song was very limited and suited George's voice. After recording the song and hearing the finished product John changed his mind on the song and liked what they recorded and the way George sounded.
