Nov 5, 2009 - i have a gut feeling that politicians and economists cannot solve problems of countries and our world, their theories help to just tinker with the course of events. science seems to come to the rescue of handling increases in human population, but again creates new problems and is misused. i think there is a time factor which is beyond all economics, science and politics

Dec 18, 2009 - Amartya Sen is really a brilliant thinker who understands that one must always question the world that we live in. His breadth as well as depth of understanding of what i call just knowledge (instead of Economics or Politics etc) is truly mind-blowing and has given him the tools to engage with serious problems that affect the poor of this earth and propose useful and insightful solutions to their problems. Truly amamzing

Jun 9, 2010 - The fact that you say something so racist and ugly actually makes you one of those people who are reviled in the real world. I know you must feel hated. Go ahead and spew silly sounding vile nonsense. I hope that at least it makes you feel better about your miserable life.

MrRajivDhawan Says:

Oct 21, 2010 - Amartya is an opportunist and a mediocre person. Jagdish Bhagwati is a much better economist. Amartya has strong support from the U.S. Jewish Lobby and is thus also very pro-Communist China. The Jews and China work as a team. Amartya has no Indian values either though he pretends to be a desiman. This is a clever disguise.

Jan 25, 2011 - I don't really think that the utilitarian model breaks down as he says when we consider people's lowered expectations and the joy they experience from a small relief from agony. I think that the utilitarian perspective can be expanded to not only judge the status of an outcome for an individual based on his/her desires/satisfaction, but rather to judge those outcomes from universal expectations. So a scrap of food is better than no food, but how does that compare with our situation...

manukottoo Says:

Apr 9, 2011 - well, first of all he is Indian. and instead of contributing to India, he just flew to the US and working for Harvard and universities like that... why not teach in India such as Delhi or Mumbai or Banglore? I definitely do not think anybody can look him as a role model. because whatever you are... the main thing people look at you is through your behavior and what you did for your country....! Its not all about MONEY! SIR!

Jan 6, 2012 - Very interesting Conversation with Dr. Sen. He comes across as a vibrant political and economic activist who will address the problems of world poor, including a billion poor living in India... One nice thing about Dr. Sen is he remained as an Indian citizen while roaming around the world for higher education and for high paying prestigious jobs.. He is the only living Nobel Laureate from India... Dr. R. Venkataraman (Nobel prize winner for Biochemistry) is Naturalized US Citizen.
