Basically if we reasonably suspect they have, stolen articles, weapons, fire arms, drugs etc we can search them or whatever their in, full stop. And if they start,'refusing' we can use reasonable force and even arrest for obstruction! Boom!

We're miles ahead of the U.S. here we can search people based purely on suspicion using a gross invasion of privacy that in most of cases turns up nothing and in the few cases that result in an arrest almost never leads to a conviction.Stop and search laws don't prevent or reduce 'crime'. They are a tool utilized by the police force to control 'problem' groups, which is almost exclusively poor, young men belonging to ethnic minorities. Woooooo freedom is awesome!

May 22, 2012 - This doesn't work in Texas. If you say this they just call out the canine unit and if the canine smells something and indicates the presence of illegal substances (which they're trained to do every time) then they'll search your vehicle

In all seriousness though, this has happen to me on more than 20 occasions in my life. BTW Im in my 20s, I just let them search and talk arrogantly to them the whole time. There's nothing they can do at that point if you're clean.
