Nov 10, 2011 - I am on the right and a republican, but Mike Gravel speaks the truth. I support Ron Paul, but Gravel gets my equal support.

Dec 1, 2011 - Paul/Gravel 2012! I would give my left nut to watch Biden attempt to debate the honorable Mike Gravel! Don't even get me started on what it is going to be like to watch Dr. Paul debate Obama.Do you hear something ringing... oh... that's the school bell!

Dec 2, 2011 - Wish i knew about this amazing person a lot sooner.

Dec 16, 2011 - I am a Libertarian with some liberal leanings and some conservative leanings, and am a big Ron Paul supporter. This man would probably be just as good for this country as Ron Paul would be. If you are a liberal who likes guys like this, Nader, Kucinich etc. then vote RON PAUL 2012!
TheInsanetoker420 Says:
Dec 20, 2011 - "All the plans except Dennis's" Thank you Senator Gravel and Congressman Kuchinich for actually standing up for the middle class.

Jan 22, 2012 - 70 percent of Blacks are in prison, because they commit 90 percent of all violent crime. Read the stats from your own Justice Department. Just like most Democrats, always pandering to minorities for votes. Why doesn't he take his wife for a long walk at night in Washington, D.C. and get educated the hard way!
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 23, 2012 - "90 percent of all violent crime" You obviously missed the entire point.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - I didn't miss a thing.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Yes, you did, because you think Gravel is saying what he said under the assumption they're put in prison just because they're black, and meanwhile your subtle racist point of view can't grasp his point.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - No, you lie. Gravel is the one who stated that 70% of prison population were African American. He said it, not me. I was commenting on what he said, because he tries to put people under the impression that he was somehow appalled at the stats and inferring that is was unfair. He was pandering to Blacks on this issue and that was the tone he took. I was merely pointing out the reason they were in prison. When reviewing the DOJ "Cimes by Race" stats, it's obvious why.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Yes, and he was not saying or even implying black people are being put in prison simply for being black. He said it very clearly, that things like the War on Drugs are not working and making things worse, and the black community, in America, are taking the brunt of the negative effects.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - (2) But I do agree he was trying to appeal to black voters, which is quite distasteful, however, at the very least his point was correct and valid. Not that gives him a pass.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - No, he was acted "shocked" at the number of Blacks in prison. The Senator is not stupid. He knows the DOJ stats on Black crime and the nature of them. He's a good actor, and many Blacks get sucked in to voting for these double-minded politicians. I'm not fooled. The so-called "war on drugs" is a joke, but Blacks choose to enter the game, use violence and not all violent crimes committed by Blacks are drug related. For instance, Blacks rape over 30,000 White women yearly.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Obviously, not all crimes committed by blacks are drug related, but that does not mean that the negative effects of the War on Drugs must effect only drug related issues. If you cut someone's feet off with the intention so they can't walk up stairs, the effect is going to be more than their inability to walk up stairs.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Not a good analogy at all. Listen, you are obviously a good person. I don't want to argue with you. You can frame the problem any way you wish. The resulting stats will not change. The media won't report the DOJ info. They like things the way they are. Paul Sheehan, a respected journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald. In 1995 he wrote "Race War, Black Against White". Google it. That was 17 years ago and it's worse now. Read it and stop making excuses for these criminals.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - I'm not making excuses for people who commit crimes, but it is the right thing to do to study as to why they did them, and try to prevent them from doing them again and other people from doing them.
AbyssCrown Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - (2) I do know that the news media and politicians like to favor a particular race in order to get ratings or win votes. Personally, I think attaching a race to an issue only makes it more political, diverts from the topic at hand, and makes people think with their emotions (on both sides) and not their brains. I was more so just defending the point Gravel was trying to make, racial talking points aside.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Put them under your subjective microscope. You will find a revealing history. Every country having a large population of Blacks suffers the same fate. Making excuses for them escalates the problem Murders, rapes, robberies and prison. They refused to pull themselves up, instead, choosing to wallow in their own sewer. They have every chance to change and it doesn't work. 50% drop out rate in schools...Their choosing. Robbing, murder, drugs, etc.
kenzo5716 Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - Politicians like Gravel are part of the problem, not the solution. Both major parties are to blame. I am not a Republican or Democrat. I despise them both for what they have done to this country and the methods they have used to do it. i come from dirt poor poverty. The choice was mine which road to take. I dug my way out and it wasn't easy. You have no idea of my past. Many Blacks have done the same. Blacks choose their own fate. No one would make excuses for me.
lopytube Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - this not really a response to the comment of which Im writing. But I don't really put to much weight into politics but this man is one of the few that I've heard talk about America has no beefs with other countries. And yes he did lean on the "african american"( whatever that means)plot a bit much
kenzo5716 Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - Thanks for your comments. I'm sure you are a fine American with the best wishes for this country. I just don't like politicians who sublimely use the race card in order to qualify their statements. Best regards, and no offense meant or implied.
anonwoohoo Says:
Feb 10, 2012 - I am a Ron Paul supporter, but I would settle for a Democrat like this man! Obama has failed us!
Lackeos Says:
Apr 6, 2012 - Mike Gravel is one of the best politicians I've ever heard speak.
ShakaCthulu Says:
May 5, 2012 - Racism, ageism, and a stupid younger voting population wowed by style, not character and substance. "Whose the cranky old white dude"?
