Title: Stevie Ray Vaughan -- Superstition
Added: Jan 19, 2009
Author: qualityshows
Duration: 5:29
Description:
From the award winning series I co-created and produced, Stevie Ray Vaughn blistered the show with two songs on this episode and then asked if he could come back on a later show to play a duet with a then-unknown 19 year-old blind blues guitarist Jeff Healey. Legendary live performance on this series, no lip syncing, no retakes. It was the closest a viewer could come to being in the front row at an SRV bar performance.

Apr 23, 2012 - he did not always play "number one". (the road torn strat). the guitar you see in this video is bettter known as "red", in 89 or 90 they installed a left-handed neck on it and replace the original neck from "red" to "number one" when it was unable to withstand more re-fret jobs.but the neck had to be replace again one year latter when a stanchion fell on to the guitar. but the real asnwer to your Q, i don't know. because the guitars are no way diffrent their both 62's and have the same pickups.

Apr 23, 2012 - SRV musta played every waking moment of every single day to wear out frets and guitar's paint jobs like he did. That's how he got so damn good. One of the reasons.
IntoTheLungsOfHell94 Says:
Apr 23, 2012 - yeah he said in a interview he would play 7 to 10 hours everyday. so 10 hours everyday from 1970 to the late 1980s plus using the thickest strings he could get (said to be as thick as barbed wire) would do the damage to the guitar. but yeah SRV was a master at the guitar and playing that much had to be one of the reasons.

Apr 23, 2012 - Ya, nobody gets better at anything when their equipment is static.

May 3, 2012 - omg...there is no one, ever, that combined playing, singing and entertaining like SRV. It is as simple as that. This dude was in a world of his own. If there is a heaven, I will see Stevie do this live after I die.Jesus H. Christ! He is the man.

May 3, 2012 - Can you imagine....just try...how much fun this must have been for him??!! The guy is playing his ass off! I'm sure he must have sold his soul to the Devil. Robert Johnson be damned. Stevie is the one.

May 7, 2012 - I saw him live in '86 he was the opening act for Dire Straits, this was my first concert...it was my birthday present from my older brother when I turned 16...I didn't want to see Dire Straits I just wanted him to keep on playing....in any case it set the bar pretty high for any other concert I went to see....
