QuasiRandomViewer Says:
Feb 18, 2010 - Normal air pressure on the ISS is 101 kPa (14.7 psi); the same as at sea level on Earth. The EMUs (Extravehicular Mobility Units -- the space suits used for EVA from the ISS and the shuttle) are pressurized at only 4.3 psi (and run pure oxygen, as opposed to the O2/N2 atmosphere of the ISS). The reduced pressure increases mobility, in particular allowing better glove movement, although it is still tiring to bend the inflated balloon that is a glove even at that reduced pressure.

Feb 18, 2010 - make sure they know how happy we are on earth to see there hard work pay off wish i could come up there to check it out cause its amazing something that big is floating above us that the astronauts put together
QuasiRandomViewer Says:
Feb 18, 2010 - This is why space walkers need to prebreathe oxygen and then camp out in the airlock at a reduced pressure overnight before their space walk in order to purge nitrogen from their blood so they won't suffer from decompression sickness.
