May 23, 2012 - No actually it's completely different. U2 were a totally different band up through Unforgettable Fire.  Boy, War and TUF were absolutely great, unique and original. A lot like Big Country The Crossing and Steeltown. Some of my favorite albums of all time. After that, it all changed for U2. Mostly for the worse, music wise anyways.

May 26, 2012 - I want to still love U2. There used to be a quietness in their stage presence that set them apart. And each song had an almost impossible timeliness to them that spoke politics and social causes without Bono having to be a self-appointed spokesman for anything. U2 never recovered that after losing it in their Zoo TV days. Even if they manage to go through the motions of some of these classics on stage now. If you think U2 is still the same band, you don't remember their pre-Rattle and Hum days.

May 26, 2012 - um no. I saw U2 LONG before you did, Bono's views and politics and beliefs and what he says have NEVER changed. That is how little you know him & the rest of them. I 1st saw them on the Boy tour & they were just as amazing THEN as they are now. IF anything the sound quality at the Concerts is that much better. Bono STILL has the same voice as he always had & the Edge's guitar abilities have improved substantially. Sure, there were a few albums in the 90s that I disliked such as Zooropa and Pop.
